I’m Kim Shackleford, a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Health Coach, and super proud mom with a deep passion for helping people reclaim their health when they’ve been told there’s no path forward.
For the past 14 years, I’ve worked alongside integrative and conventional doctors, psychologists, and therapists to support patients facing chronic symptoms, autoimmunity, digestive issues, mood disorders, and toxic burden. I bridge the gap between clinical recommendations and real life change, helping clients turn overwhelming protocols into sustainable action. I offer a whole person approach that addresses precision nutrition, targeted supplementation, detoxification, and comprehensive lifestyle support.
Everything shifted when my son, Kanaan, was born with Down syndrome. He faced open heart surgery and a range of complex medical challenges early on. The conventional model offered little more than labels and limitations. I never accepted that or aligned with that path. I knew there had to be more. That moment became the catalyst for returning to school, immersing myself in this work, and pursuing a more meaningful understanding of how the body heals.
My passion for this work is fueled by lived experience and relentless purpose. I’ve always been deeply inquisitive and drawn to uncovering the layers of people and symptoms that are so often missed. As a child, I struggled with symptoms of OCD and trichotillomania, as well as focus, concentration, and being easily distracted. I saw doctors, but it was always a string of empty diagnoses that led nowhere. That early frustration created a fierce drive to understand what others couldn’t explain. It is part of who I am, highly intuitive, deeply attuned, and insatiably curious. I don’t stop searching for answers, and I never accept “everything is normal” when I know there is more to uncover. That relentlessness is my strength, and it is the heart of how I show up in life.
My clinical training includes certifications through the Nutritional Therapy Association, Restorative Wellness Solutions, GAPS, and the Institute for Functional Medicine’s FMCA coaching program. I am also a certified CellCore Biosciences and True Cellular practitioner, where I use a systems-based approach to detoxification, gut healing, and cellular restoration.
But my path wasn’t just shaped by motherhood and education. It began much earlier, as a national level competitor in the NPC Figure division. I spent years immersed in sport specific nutrition, owning two fitness facilities, and coaching athletes to peak performance. That chapter of my life gave me a strong foundation in nutrition, drive and determination and the power of the human body. It also showed me the difference between looking healthy and being healthy.
That distinction became crystal clear when I faced my own health collapse. Despite all my knowledge, I developed brain fog and cognitive decline, Hashimoto’s, chronic fatigue, and daily flu like symptoms. I was later diagnosed with mold toxicity. In 2023, I also explanted after 24 years with breast implants and uncovered a deeper layer to my symptoms: Breast Implant Illness (BII). My recovery journey has been long and arduous, and I am so grateful for all the wisdom it has built. It made me even more determined to pursue continuous education and help others who are navigating mystery illness or feel dismissed by the never ending cycle in the conventional sick care system.
I know what it feels like to look fine on the outside and be falling apart inside. I understand how isolating and scary it is when your labs look normal, but you’re dealing with severe chronic symptoms and you know in your gut something is wrong. That’s why I show up with unwavering dedication. I guide my clients with clinical precision, emotional support, and a no judgment zone for where they are. Healing is not linear.
The beneficial side effects of exposing and eliminating the stressors, and supporting the body’s synergistic systems, are often life changing. More energy. Deeper sleep. Balanced hormones. A clearer mind. Improved digestion. Less pain. Better mood. A renewed sense of self. These shifts are not just the goal, they are the natural result of removing the things that are impeding the body’s ability to repair itself.
Healing is about reconnecting to your innate wisdom. Trust in your intuition, allow me to help guide that process. That takes hope, curiosity, purposeful timing, patience, and the right supports. Whether you’re dealing with BII, mold toxicity, autoimmune disease, chronic fatigue, anxiety or complex digestive issues, my role is to guide you through each intentional step with the broader vision of wellness always in view.
